Tureks, as a vertically integrated producer of natural stone, attempts to explore all possible practical uses of our products. A part of that exploration is to provide advice on how natural stone might be properly used in each application. Today, let’s talk about Natural Stone Showers.

Since water is essentially the reason for your shower, let’s start with how to deal with it in terms of stone. For example, consider the shower walls. A very cool thing to do is to use a cut-to-size slab to create each of the walls. This will eliminate the joints or spaces that tile formats require, thereby helping with drainage and the minimization of potential mildew issues. Even if slabs are not something that you can use, larger unit stone tile formats will achieve almost the same result, as shown at the top of this post.

The floors of the shower need to consider not only maintenance, but also slip-resistance. An easy way to approach that is by putting mosaics on the floors. This  renders a space or joint between the pieces that offers greater traction under foot in the presence of water. Textured finishes will also dissipate slip problems.

Lastly, an easy light sealing will complete your Natural Stone Showers. Thanks for reading.
